We all know that India got freedom on august 15th 1947. For this, so many freedom fighters inspire people and gave their lives for the freedom of India from the Britishers.
What Happened Before 1947?
since 1857, the fight for freedom became tough and painstaking. Indians needed to struggle for nearly a century (from 1857 to 1947) for freedom. No Indian can forget the Jallianwala bagh genocide. We can still remember that day thousands of innocent Indian people for killed cruelly. Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra bose, Bhagath sing, Bala Gangadhar Tilak, and many more freedom fighters gave their slogans to enlighten people and sacrificed their lives for freedom.
It’s been 73 years since we got our freedom back. Over nearly a hundred years of the freedom fight, our powerful fighter gave goosebumps and enlighten the people’s minds with their slogans. They are not any less and they were chanted like mantras till now even after 73 years of freedom. Now, it’s time to recall them, and let’s see the most famous slogans of our Indian freedom fighters.

1. Subhash Chandrabose: “Give me blood and I will give you freedom”.
Subhash Chandrabose, one of the freedom fighters, whom we call “Netaji” with affection. He is a master in troubling Britishers and escaping without any trace. Also, till now the death of Netaji Subhas Chandrabose is a mystery. His all-time slogan is “Give me blood and I will give you freedom”. While Gandhiji chanted for peace, Netaji told that it is not time for peace and the freedom needs blood. Netaji is the founder of the Indian National Army. He always encourages youth and motivates them to fight for the country.
2. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi : “Do or Die”
We know that Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi called as Mahatma Gandhiji. He is the father of the nation. He acquaints the people with peace and truth. Also, his slogan was “Do or Die” during the quit India resolution. After a meeting of the All India congress committee, he delivered this slogan on August 7, 1942. Since the very next day, the Quit India Resolution was extended to the whole country and the overwhelming majority of people have participated in that. This resolution has bought the British ruling to an end. The concept of the slogan was either fight for your country or die.
3. Muhammad Iqbal : “Saare Jahan se achha..”
We know the best anthem “Saare Jahan se achha..” which was written by a politician, famous poet, philosopher Muhammad Iqbal. He is a barrister in British India. With his poetry and songs, he spread awareness in people and let them prepare for freedom fight.
4. Bankim Chandra Chatterjee: “Vande Mataram”
“Vande Mataram” slogan has a huge response in those days. Even Britishers gave orders not to spell this “Vande Mataram”. But Indian people loved the slogan and they chanted all the time. This was a poem written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. Bankim Chandra Chatterjee was a journalist. He praised the greatness of mother India through his poem ” Vande Mataram” which was loved by the whole nation.
5. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya: ” Sathyameva Jayathe”
We all know the famous slogan ” Sathyameva Jayathe” (Truth only Triumphs) but do you know who is the writer of this slogan. He was Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya who is the founder of Banaras Hindu University. He used this slogan in 1918 during his presidential address un the Indian National Congress Convention.
6. Bal Gangadhar Tilak: “Independence is my birthright and I shall have it”
Bal Gangadhar Tilak is also a famous freedom fighter whose slogan is “Independence is my birthright and I shall have it”. With this slogan, he ignited patriotism in many people and gathered the people from all sections of society. He worked hard as a social reformer, lawyer, and also nationalist.
7. Chandrashekhar Azad : “Azad”
Chandrashekhar Azad has great patriotism during his childhood. He went to jail at a very early age for hitting British police with a stone. He always dreams about freedom and He added Azad as his surname. Azad means freedom. For his bravery, People remembered him as Chandrashekhar Azad. He gave many popular motivative slogans to the people. The most famous slogan is “Even now, the one whose blood has not boiled, the blood is not water, the one who is not useful for the country is a wasted youth”.
8. Ramprasad Bismil: “The desire of Sarfaroshi is now in our heart, it is to be seen how much power is in Baazoo-e-Katil”
Ramprasad Bismil is also one of the freedom fighters who used to write patriotic poems. “The desire of Sarfaroshi is now in our heart, it is to be seen how much power is in Baazoo-e-Katil” is the line from his poem. It was spread as a slogan in those days. He was the most famous patriotic poem writer during the times.
9. Jawaher Lal Nehru: “Aaram is haram”
Without his name, there are no Indian Politics. He is the first prime minister of India. ” Aaram is haram” is the famous slogan by Jawaher Lal Nehru.
10. Ashfaqullah Khan: “Holly will play with blood if the country is in trouble”
He is a freedom fighter from Shahjahanapur and he is a close friend of Ramprasad Bismil. He is a figure in Kakori robber and they both were sentenced to death after being exposed. Khan used the slogan “Holly will play with blood if the country is in trouble” from the poem Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna to motivate the youth.
11. Bhagath Sing: “Inqlaab Zindabad”
Bhagath sing used the famous slogan “Inqlaab Zindabad” which means long live the revolution. He has sacrificed his life at the early age of 23. He was sentenced to death for motivating the youth towards freedom. The slogan he used was written by an Urdu poet and freedom fighter named Maulana Hasrat Mohanib. But it was spread by Bhagath Singh.
