One must need to carry his passport no matter where he goes in the foreign countries. But, it is an exhausting process to get the passport documents. By applying for Tatkal Passport, one must need to attend all the above procedures at Passport Seva Kendra but the verification will be faster than the normal passport. 

How to Apply for Tatkal Passport?

To apply for Tatkal Passport, go to the link: https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/user/RegistrationBaseAction?request_locale=en

Step – 1

By clicking on the link, you will get a screen like this:

First, you need to register by filling up all the details. 

Step – 2

Then, you have to log in to the portal by entering your registered user ID and password.

Step – 3

Later, you have to click on the “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport” link.

Step – 4

You have to fill up all the details you have asked for and then click on the “submit” button.

Step – 5

Then, you have to click on the “Pay and Schedule Appointment” button to 

schedule your appointment according to the availability slot. 

In the end, you have to pay online for the Tatkal passport fee. All online payment modes like debit card, credit card, Sbi bank credit, internet banking, and SBI bank challan.

After finishing the payment, you will get a message to your registered mobile number regarding the appointment details. You need to show this message to enter the Passport Seva Kendra. Once your appointment has been fixed, then attend certificate verification at the booked Passport Seva Kendra. 

How to Check Passport Application Status?

You can check passport application status with the help of your serial numbers.

The stepwise procedure to check passport application status is as follows.

1. Go to Passport Seva’s official website.
2. Then, click on the “Track Application Status” option on the home page.
3. Later, enter the type of application, number of the application, DOB (date of birth), and then click on the “submit” button.
4. Check the Passport application status that appeared on the screen.
